In the process of automatic parts processing, it is necessary to effectively manage the processing tools, so as to ensure the smooth progress of automatic processing and the processing quality of products. How to manage the tool life of automatic part processing?

The tool durability test is required to obtain the number of parts processed by each tool from the beginning of cutting to the time when the wear reaches the blunt standard. The tool wear can also be obtained through the tool setting instrument.

Automatic parts processing needs to be carried out continuously, so the tool life should be matched. Individual tools cannot match the life, so tool group management is required to ensure that the life of each group of tools is matched as much as possible.

Tool wear can be divided into normal wear and abnormal wear. Normal wear refers to the gradual wear of tools in the normal cutting process without accidental factors.

Abnormal wear refers to the damage of the tool caused by accidental factors, such as hard spots in materials, external vibration, etc. Complete tool life management should control both wear conditions.

When the tool is normally processed, the tool life management provided by the precision engraving NC system can be used for tool control, and the number of times the tool is used in processing can be counted. If the number of times used is equal to the number of previous tool life tests, the tool life is expired. The system automatically selects another tool in the tool set, and does not alarm until all the tools in the tool set expire, so as to manage the tool life.

In the actual automatic processing process, the tools cannot be worn normally. At this time, the tool life management of the CNC system cannot meet the control requirements, so it is necessary to cooperate with the tool tester to control.

Each tool shall be set with a tool setting instrument, and then the tool length value shall be compared with the initial value. If the difference is greater than the wear amount of the previous tool life test, it is considered that the tool has abnormal wear such as chipping and fracture, and the tool life is expired. Therefore, tools should be well managed for automatic parts processing.
