Rockwell hardness tester is the first Rockwell hardness tester designed according to the principle of Rockwell hardness test in the world, which can test the metal hardness only by contacting the sample on one side. The Rockwell hardness tester head is adsorbed on the steel surface by magnetic force, without supporting the sample. The test accuracy conforms to the standards GB/T230 and ISO6508, and is not lower than the bench type Rockwell hardness tester. Rockwell hardness testing method was originally proposed by American Rockwell (S.P. RocKwell and H.M. RocKwell) in 1914. Later, they improved the design of the hardness tester twice in 1919 and 1921, laying the foundation of the modern Rockwell hardness tester. By 1930, C. H. Wilson had carried out an updated design, which made the Rockwell hardness testing method and equipment more perfect. Rockwell hardness tester with touch screen control, numerical display, curve display and automatic printing of test data has been produced in China. Rockwell hardness testing method is characterized by simple operation, rapid measurement, and direct reading from dial indicator or optical projection screen or display screen. Like Brinell and Vickers hardness testing methods, it has become one of the three commonly used hardness testing methods.
